Applications are invited from ISTM members only (except Best Technologist Award). One member can apply for one award only. Submit a detailed biodata along with research work duly approved by the Head of Department. Kindly mention your ISTM membership number in the application.

ISTM Award Categories

Professor J. G. Jolly Award
🏆 Cash Prize: ₹25,000 + Plaque
Instituted in memory of Late Prof. (Dr.) J. G. Jolly who spent his lifetime promoting the speciality of Transfusion Medicine and bolstering human resource development in this field across India.
Eligibility Criteria
- PG students pursuing MD/DNB Transfusion Medicine/IHBT, Senior Residents, Tutors, or Demonstrators who have qualified the course
- Original research paper not awarded earlier by any organisation
- Abstract must highlight interesting concepts in Transfusion Medicine
- Submitted via Secretary ISTM to the Executive Committee

Professor V. L. Ray Memorial Award
🏆 Cash Prize: ₹25,000
Instituted in memory of Late Prof. (Dr.) V L Ray — a teacher par excellence who devoted her lifetime to teaching and training in Transfusion Medicine. This is a combined award for the guide and student duo for best thesis work.
Eligibility Criteria
- Best MD/DNB thesis work — research paper accepted or published based on thesis after March 2024
- Original research paper not awarded earlier by any organisation
- Copy of executive summary/synopsis and self-attested thesis certificate required
- Application format available on the ISTM website

Young Scientist Award
🏆 Free Registration + Travel + Accommodation
ISTM honours individuals who have made significant scientific contributions to Transfusion Medicine in India. One award given each year at the annual conference. Selected candidate receives full conference support.

Postgraduate Student Award (Travel Fellowship)

Established to encourage PG students to present innovative work at the annual ISTM conference. Minimum two awards each year. Selected students receive full conference support, oral presentation opportunity, Certificate and Memento.

Technologist Award

Awarded to technical personnel who have done innovative research work of high standard or have developed a new lab facility. Open to all — not restricted to ISTM members. One award given per year. Selected candidate presents their work as a free oral paper.

Awarded to the best oral paper presentation at TRANSMEDCON 2026. Number of awards decided by the Organising Committee.
Best Poster Award
Awarded to the best poster presentation. All post graduate students and young faculty are encouraged to submit their abstracts timely.
